At Irymple Basketball Association, we deeply mourn the loss of Mitchell Branson — a much-loved member of our community whose presence on and off the court left a lasting impact on everyone around him.

Mitch began his basketball journey with us, starting right at the beginning in our Miniball Program. From those early days, it was clear that he had a passion not just for the game, but for the people who played it.

He went on to play club basketball with the Irymple Tigers, where he was a valued teammate and competitor. As Mitch began to slow down with club competitions, he never left the court behind. Instead, he returned to where it all started — IBA — stepping up to fill in for teams, umpire games, and always lending a hand or sharing a friendly chat.

Mitch was the kind of person who made everyone feel welcome. He showed up, helped out, and gave back. His quiet dedication and kind spirit are why he is so deeply missed, and why we will continue to celebrate his legacy each year with our most meaningful award:
